2020-2021 Virtual CHAT Nights

For the 2020-2021 School Year, MCGT’s Monthly CHAT nights will be virtual via Zoom and for MCGT members-only.

CHAT Nights are dedicated to informally connecting parents of gifted children, helping them find other parents in similar situations with an ear to listen, experiences to share, and solutions to offer. Each CHAT Night starts with a brief (10-15 minutes) presentation by a facilitator on a designated topic of interest followed by small group discussion. The format of CHAT Nights is intended to be casual, rather than structured.

Member login is required to see CHAT Zoom links. Due to the nature of CHAT Nights, they will NOT be recorded.

CHAT schedules and Zoom links will be posted on the Member Online CHAT page and updated throughout the year. Trouble getting to the CHAT? Email the MCGT office at [email protected] We will be monitoring emails.

Not a MCGT member? Learn more about MCGT Membership Benefits and JOIN TODAY!

CHATs will be held from 7:00pm – 8:30pm unless noted otherwise.

April 8, 2021. Learning Styles and Family Dynamics, Facilitator Carol Malueg.

Families are feeling the stress of a chaotic year.  Living, working, and learning in close quarters and navigating the ins and outs of distance, hybrid, and in-person learning has been an enormous challenge, but you’ve learned a lot about yourselves and your children.  What are the lessons you have found most valuable?  Have you made changes in how you work together as a family?

As we navigate the last quarter of the school year and look forward to next year, what are some of the ways your family has decided to make the new normal different than the old normal?  Let’s talk about the insights you have had into your child’s learning preferences, how they are similar to or different from your own, and how to support yourselves and your children in honoring these preferences as we move into whatever comes next.
