CHOICES – The Stock Market Game

The CHOICES chapter of MCGT will be offering a free online opportunity for CHOICES Chapter member students to play The Stock Market Game (TSMG).  TSMG will be offered at no cost to Minnesota groups thanks to funding from Charles Schwab Foundation!

The game play dates are:

Late Spring March 8th- May 28th

The game gives students $100,000 and allows them to buy and sell stocks for a 12 week period to see how the market moves.  This 12 week period will include new policy from President Biden and will likely have a lot of interesting ups and downs as a result.  Once a week, students will have an opportunity to meet via Zoom with the class to discuss stock ideas and share tips.    Meeting via Zoom is not a requirement to participate.  Zoom gatherings won’t begin until the week of March 22nd and are at various times based on instructor availability.

Lorri Jennings has offered this opportunity thrice before and has had multiple students win state wide recognition for their portfolio performance.  This is solely due to the ideas and decisions made by the kids in the class!  Often, this becomes a family group discussion opportunity based on the various industries parents are active in, and it can be a lot of fun for the entire family.

Please email Lorri Jennings at [email protected]  (CHOICES Treasurer) by Wednesday March 3rd to register your student ages 8-18 for the online opportunity to play the Stock Market Game.

Not a member of the CHOICES Chapter? Email the MCGT office at [email protected] to add the CHOICES Chapter to your MCGT membership as a second chapter, $18 per year.
