Registration Table Locations: 

Registration for adults with children in the Kids’ program is on the skyway level near the elevators in Opus Hall (#3 on attached map – the Kids’ classes are in Opus Hall and the adult sessions are in Terrence Murphy Hall)

Registration for adults without children at the conference is on the skyway level of Schulze Halls (#5 on attached map). Recommended parking is the Harmon Place parking ramp at a cost of $5.00 for all day Saturday (#4 on attached map). The skyway from the parking ramp through the School of Law to Schulze Hall will be open and lead right to the adult registration table.

Morning Beverages and Pastries:

Food and Drinks are not allowed in the Auditoriums. No food or beverages will be available until after the keynote presentation. Coffee, tea, juice and small pastries will be available in Terrence Murphy Hall Room 252 (along the hallway to the elevators/stairways from Schulze Auditorium) and outside Terrence Murphy Hall Room 301 (vendor/exhibitor room) immediately following the Keynote Address. The same items will be available at both locations.

Water with Lunches:

Ice water will be served in cups for those who selected water as a lunch beverage.

Book Exchange:

As part of the MCGT Conference, kids are offered an opportunity to exchange their used children’s and adolescent books in good condition  for “new” reading material. No textbooks, adult or preschool books are included. Kids may turn in their books when they register and are given a bookmark coupon noting how many books they brought in. They return to the book swap area (TMH room 252) at 4:10 after the afternoon classes end to redeem their coupon for books of their choice.

Donations of appropriate books are appreciated even if you do not plan to participate in the exchange.

Book Drawings:

There will be drawings for a number of books for parents and educators of the gifted – tickets will be handed out at the registration table and the drawings will take place in the opening/keynote session. The books may then be claimed at the MCGT book table in TMH 348.

Keynote presentation will be in the Schulze Hall Auditorium – All Other Adult Presentations will be in Terrence Murphy Hall

2014 Keynote Speaker – Lori Comallie-Caplin

Lori Comallie-Caplan is a New Mexico Licensed Master Social Worker, a Licensed Educational Diagnostician with a Masters Degree in Psychological Counseling. Additionally she holds Advanced Certification for Mediation from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Mrs. Comallie-Caplan has 30 plus years of experience in the field of counseling, coaching evaluation, mediation and educational consultation. She is best known for her work with gifted individuals through the lifespan and frequently provides professional development for school districts and mental health professionals in the social emotional needs of the gifted. Other areas of expertise include behavioral consultation for Autism Spectrum Disorders and the supporting of positive parenting through behavioral analysis and intervention. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, National Association of Gifted Children, and SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted). She served on the Executive Board of SENG as Secretary, President-Elect and President .

Mrs. Comallie-Caplan’s additional certifications include: Discovering Your Sacred Gifts Facilitator and Guide, Frasier Talent Assessment Profile Evaluator, SENG Model Parent Group Master Facilitator, and SENG Model Parent Group.
